The American Scholar
Before Kyrgies, I worked in print publishing. Or rather, I worked in bringing print publishing to the digital world. This is where I cut in a bunch of important things: online content management, traditional direct mail campaigns, and all things digital marketing.
The American Scholar is a general-interest magazine that is printed quarterly. It is published by The Phi Beta Kappa Society. I promise, it's not as stuffy as it sounds
Perhaps most importantly, my time at The American Scholar reintroduced me to books as an adult. It was amazing to work alongside a staff of people that are actively reading and are dedicated to the world of ideas. I don't read as much as I did when I was commuting by train 2.5 hours a day to the Scholar office, but I do still read. If you're hanging with me and looking for a conversation starter, this is a good one.
